LA MARJAL FLOODABLE PARK: A public park from a space designed to occasionally serve as a temporary water retention reservoir. The park was based on the functioning of marshes, depressions, or plains separated from the sea by a chain of dunes that, during the rainy season, accumulate water from their natural basins. The NBS project has created specific habitats for the diversity of Mediterranean plants and birds. Hence, the name "La Marjal" floodable park.
It has been used to introduce students to the NBS solutions.
For our association, SDC San Blas, it has been a way to learn about the new ideas of regreening our spaces, using recycled water, facilitating the creation of habitats for birds, and spaces for family recreation.
