05/12/2023Evidence from the OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2018 indicates that the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for teaching was rarely included in the education and training of secondary teachers in EU countries. On average in the Member States, less than half of teachers (49.1%) report that ICT was included in their formal education or training. The speed of development of XR Technologies in Education is not in parallel with the speed of teachers’ digital skills. Current distance education focuses on the students, with no focus on teachers and improving pedagogical practices through XR.
