INSET (INdustrial Symbiosis capacity building for Enterprises and related actors through a disruptive, digital and pragmatic Training and awareness approach)
Description
Circularity and sustainability will make the business environment more competitive in the long term, and to achieve this, it is necessary to evolve business practices and create new business models based on best practices in circularity. Under this framework, business models based on Industrial Symbiosis (IS) are an enabling factor that could achieve green growth and accelerate the implementation of CE.
IS is a business opportunity for ecological innovation and its implementation can lead to lower production costs while in parallel creating environmental and social benefits for the involved companies.
The main objective of the INSET project is to realise the implementation of IS in industry and the consequent transformation of the business network towards circularity and sustainability. For this, the development of a training programme with different digital and innovative tools will be key.
Thus, the INSET project has defined the following SMARTER objectives:
- SO1. Raise awareness among business networks, as well as innovation agents, VET providers and other organisations about the IS concept and the necessity of its real implementation.
- SO2. Develop a comprehensive but disruptive capacity building methodology addressing all the current needed knowledge, skills and competences for business networks and related actors.
- SO3. Launch the INSET toolkit, compiled by different capacity building resources for those actors interested in learning about IS.
- SO4. Make available a collaborative repository that will set the basis for cooperation and communication regarding the IS concept, collecting a wide range of information, training, reports, etc.
- SO5. Stimulate policymakers and local, regional and national communities into adapting concrete IS approaches.
- SO6. Ensure the project sustainability and impact after its end by assuring access to project results, with strong emphasis on results promotion.
- SO7. Break borderlines among business and VET, creating common methods and skills that will allow increasing the quality of both the VET offer and business resilience.
