Empowering Teachers for Climate Action
Discover how the NBS4School project equips primary school teachers with practical tools, ready-to-use lesson plans, and innovative resources to bring Nature-Based Solutions and citizen science into the classroom. Together, we make climate change education action-oriented and inspiring!
Description
NBS stands for Nature-Based Solutions, a new and innovative approach to address challenges arising from climate change. It refers to strategies that harness the power of nature to create sustainable solutions for environmental issues. The “4School” in NBS4School signifies that this project specifically targets educational settings. The idea is simple yet powerful: empower teachers and students to act for the climate through natural solutions.

The research objectives of the NBS4School project focus on leveraging existing findings and generating new knowledge to design innovative educational programmes. As part of this effort, we will conduct a comprehensive study of best practices in Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) education. The insights from this study will form the foundation for developing high-quality educational resources and programmes that are evidence-based and tailored to the needs of teachers and learners.
