Dear Elizabeth,

welcome to Scientix! Indeed, in the SPICE Communities of Practice there isn't a separate discussion thread on the use of web 2.0 tools in the science classroom.

I added a new topic ICT in IBSME in the Subject category, so you can start one if you want.

Also, the project te@ch.us may be interesting to you. It aims to support Web 2.0 projects in schools and motivate teachers to use web 2.0 tools in classes.

Best regards

Premysl

I have looked into te@ch.us and it looks very interesting. Howveer, it seems that it ran until 2011.
Any member of this Spice community who has contributed to that project and might illustrate us?

Dear Peter,

Yes indeed the Teach.us project terminated recently, however the community will remain active and the discussions ongoing.
I advice you to look for content and examples of web 2.0 tools in the section "Practices" of the website - see http://www.teachus.eu/practices

You can also listen to the recorded websinars on the use of Sloodle, Titter and games in education, and much more : ) - see http://www.teachus.eu/webinars

Kind regards,
Marie

This is a good thread!
What I like more, to work with students:
- blogs
- Modellus (a powerful mathematical and science modelling tool)
- dropbox, to exchange files with them in a shared cloud space

My favourite links and those of my colleagues in other science areas are most of the links offered in the Inspire project. The web page is
http://inspire.eun.org and there is information in various languages.

Apart from that, I like to start a wiki with my students, in some projects.
