Supporting Sustainability Education: Guidelines for Teachers and School Leaders from BUSTIC EDU
The BUSTIC EDU project (Building Sustainability Competences in Education) has put together two complementary resources to help schools bring sustainability competences into the classroom, from early childhood all the way to secondary education. Both are now available on the Scientix resources repository!
The Guidelines for Teachers (D3.1) cover the theory, offer practical classroom strategies, and include concrete examples and good practices from European projects, all drawing on the GreenComp framework to help educators at every level get started.
The Heads of School Guidelines (D3.2) take things to the school level, supporting leaders in building a whole-school approach to sustainability, from curriculum integration and teacher capacity building to community engagement and monitoring progress.
The guidelines are designed to work together: one supporting teachers in the classroom, the other helping school leaders create the right conditions for sustainability education to take hold.
Both guidelines point to the Scientix® Environmental Sustainability Collection as a practical next step! A curated mix of high-quality STEM resources on sustainability, searchable by age, subject, and competence framework, ready to use in your classroom or school. Explore it here!
