Europeana DS kicks off its 4th Year with Training Activities across Europe!
Europe’s cultural heritage has millions of stories to tell, and the Europeana DS initiative is making sure they’re heard.
As the project moves into its fourth year and a new phase of implementation, European Schoolnet® has brought together a new network of 50 Europeana Master Trainers, from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden. From September 2025 to April 2026, these educators will support teachers at local and national level in reusing digital cultural heritage in education, following a train-the-trainer approach.
Many participants are active Scientix® Ambassadors, while others return with experience as Europeana Ambassadors, creating a strong link between the two communities. Over the coming months, the Master Trainers will deliver professional development activities, helping educators explore practical and creative ways to integrate Europeana resources into their teaching. They will also encourage teachers to share their own Stories of Reuse with the wider European education community during the upcoming 2026 STEM Discovery Campaign (February–April 2026), where Europeana will have a dedicated Scientix Award!
Supporting these efforts is Europeana Education, which helps educators turn digital cultural heritage into engaging learning experiences. With more than 60 million digitised items available on the Europeana platform, from historical photographs and artworks to audiovisual and 3D content, educators, researchers and learners can explore, reuse and creatively reinterpret Europe’s cultural heritage.
Even more inspiration is available on the Teaching with Europeana website, which offers ready-made learning scenarios and classroom examples developed by educators. These practical resources show how cultural heritage can be brought to life in everyday teaching and spark ideas for new activities.
Another year with a growing network and countless ways to bring Europe’s cultural heritage into learning! Check out the Europeana platform and get inspired today.
