GROW THE ROOTS OF GREEN EDUCATION: EXPLORE NBS RESOURCES TODAY
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR INSPIRATION AND RESOURCES TO BRING ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY COMPETENCES TO YOUR STEM CLASSROOM? THE NBS ACADEMY IS HERE TO HELP!
NBS Academy is a project co-funded by the EU that aims to set up an international Community of Practice on NBS education for both teachers and teacher training providers. Nature-based solutions (NBS) are defined by the European Commission as “Solutions that are inspired and supported by nature and ecosystem services to solve human challenges to achieve sustainability.”
To support educators and teacher trainers, the project is consolidating a wide range of resources to help students develop the crucial skills and competencies needed for a sustainable society.

The NBS Academy Thinking Tool offers a structured way to plan and conduct NBS projects in education. It navigates planning through six steps; each linked to a guiding question and leading to various relevant NBS resources to use at each step. Going through each step, you will find a selection of planning and teaching resources to find the best way of introducing NBS in your practice.

Dig into the framework for the digital competence of educators
https://joint-research-centre.ec.europa.eu/digcompedu_en
The DigCompEdu is a scientifically sound framework describing what it means for educators to be digitally competent. It provides a general reference frame to support the development of educator-specific digital competences in Europe. Using this framework in innovative NBS materials is key to an NBS education fit for the future, as digital technologies are now seen as essential tools to teach sustainability and to successfully use and monitor NBS.
