As you know, here at Scientix®, we make knowledge accessible to you. For this reason, our Knowledge Resource Hub offers a wide range of resources to support your learning and teaching. From essential STEM concepts to insightful papers, everything you need is at your fingertips. And today, we would like to take a closer look at one particular type of resource: our STEM Job Profiles.

What are our STEM Job Profiles?

The STEM Job Profiles are a one-stop reference point where experts in STEM fields share genuine insights into their careers. Each profile enables professionals to describe their work in their own words, outlining the core skills required for the position, their daily responsibilities and potential career progression.

Thanks to this first-person perspective, these detailed accounts present a rare insight into the practical application of STEM knowledge, making them an invaluable resource for educators and learners alike.

In addition to providing useful career information, these profiles also serve as a source of inspiration. Many students feel uncertain about their future career paths, often due to a lack of guidance from those who have experienced it first-hand.

To help bridge this gap, each professional shares their own personal journey, from their academic background to the challenges they faced and the lessons they learned. All compiled in an easy-to-use, downloadable sheet format that is ideal for the classroom and beyond.

Our latest additions: The Scientix® STEM Alliance, Cummins®, OUTSTE(A)M and The SEER Job Profiles

Because each educational phase requires students to develop specific skills, these job profiles, created in collaboration with Cummins®, OUTSTE(A)M and The SEER, have been designed for three educational levels: early education, primary education and secondary education. This approach ensures that students of all ages can access relevant, age-appropriate career insights.

The profiles highlight roles such as Team Leader, Supplier Quality Director and Plant Director, showing how curiosity, problem-solving and teamwork come together in a global, tech-driven environment. They help students see how their interests in building, mathematics and innovation can lead to exciting, real-world careers.

You can also explore the “Inspiring STEM Careers – A Teacher’s Toolkit to Empower Student Ambitions” webinar, organised by Scientix® STEM Alliance, the Future Classroom Lab and Cummins®. The session features the Supplier Quality Director sharing her professional journey, alongside a dedicated teacher and other STEM professionals who provide advice, resources and practical strategies to inspire students with authentic role models!
