Celebrating 5 Years of Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators: EIT Women and Girls in STEM
The EIT Women and Girls in STEM celebrates five years of the Girls Go Circular initiative, promoting digital, green, and entrepreneurial skills among secondary school students.
This year’s focus is cybersecurity, highlighting the importance of inclusion in shaping Europe’s digital resilience.
The EIT Women and Girls in STEM, part of the EIT Education and Skills Days 2025, marks five years of the Girls Go Circular initiative led by the EIT Community and supported by the European Commission. Since 2021, the programme has equipped thousands of secondary school students with essential skills for the green and digital transitions, while promoting gender balance in STEM and ICT.
This year the event takes place on 16 October in Brussels and focuses on cybersecurity, a field crucial for privacy, safety and national security where women remain significantly underrepresented. The programme features expert panels, interactive discussions and the Girls Go Circular Student Challenge Finale, inspiring young people to pursue careers in science and technology and helping close the gender gap in STEM across Europe.
