The SEER and Scientix® kick off the SDC 2025: Discover innovative pedagogies and tools to future-proof STEM Education!
Launched on February 1st, the Scientix® STEM Discovery Campaign invites teachers and educators to share their best practice, implement new pedagogies and test teaching resources, with the possibility of being recognised with a Scientix Award.
So Scientix® and the STE(A)M Education European Roadmap (SEER), an EU-funded project dedicated to the mainstreaming of integrated STEM education in Europe, offer this year’s first insightful training.
In the ‘Future Proofing STEM Education’ series, pedagogical experts from the two initiatives and guest speakers from related projects explored how to transform STEM Education to achieve 21st-century challenges. Organised in collaboration with the Scientix® STEM Alliance, these sessions dug into key areas like career development, green and blue education, and educational technologies, while showcasing a selection of EU-funded initiatives.
These topics, pedagogies, tools, and initiatives are at the heart of the 2025 edition of the STEM Discovery Campaign, so read on, watch the recording, and get ready to shine and share with Scientix®!
The first webinar explored how innovative pedagogies like integrated STEM education, open schooling, or outdoor learning can help teach about environmental sustainability and natural processes. “These new pedagogies along with environmental education,” note these experts, “are essential in making education future-ready and bringing a sense of agency for students to engage with solving global and societal issues.” Illustrating theory with best practices, speakers introduced multiple examples from projects such as CROPS, OUTSTE(A)M, and SLEs, which showed innovative approaches to implementing Green and Blue Education.
During the second event, experts from the EmpowerED initiative, the Scientix® STEM Alliance, and the Smart Connected Classrooms (Qualcomm) pilot project discussed career role models, the importance and challenges of navigating the integration of technology in the classroom, and the role that industry and private partnerships can play in education.
