To achieve its ambition, the project is mapping national and international policies to understand which policy settings best support STE(A)M education and STE(A)M initiatives and EU funded projects of all teaching levels to identify the educational strategies that provide the best outcomes for teachers and students.

The SEER Policy Digest provides an accessible summary of the current European policy landscape around STE(A)M education and offers some actionable recommendations for policymakers.

While governments, educational institutions, and industry leaders are increasingly recognizing the value of STE(A)M education to nurture a more holistic and contextualized education, and to nurture a workforce able to rise to the challenges of a transforming society, there remain multiple challenges that still prohibit a complete shift toward integrated learning.

In the pursuit of mainstreaming STE(A)M Education in Europe, the SEER project has identified some transformative steps that could be implemented at policy level, thus enabling a widespread adoption of STE(A)M teaching and learning. This first set of policy recommendations addresses a variety of areas for improvement including terminology in the field of STE(A)M teaching and learning, the possible role of a STE(A)M teacher, or the reform of curricula and teacher training for STE(A)M teaching and learning.
