Earth to Mars project completes its second phase

The project INTERPLANETARY TRAVEL: EARTH TO MARS completed its second phase, during which it pursued three goals:

Aeronautics
Astronautics
Astronomy
Applied sciences
Physics
  • engaging students in modern STE(A)M topics through inquiry and the use of simulations, specifically by planning a trip from Earth to Mars using the least amount of fuel;
  • sharing results through workshops and presentations at conferences
  • gathering Greek teachers and Scientix Ambassadors to share their experiences with the project and to propose changes or new similar projects.

During this phase, which lasted from September 2022 to March 2023, the project organized a number of workshops, including one at the FOSSCOMM conference in November 2022, one for Scientix Ambassadors in March 2023, and one for Greek teachers in March 2023.

The project also presented results at the 3rd Panhellenic Scientix conference in September 2022 and at the ACSTAC conference held in March 2023 in Thessaloniki.

In all, more than 400 Greek students enrolled in inquiry-based STE(A)M activities for interplanetary travel, as did nearly 300 students from other European countries.
