fondation La main à la pâte

 The La main à la pâte Foundation aims to improve the quality of science and technology teaching in primary and lower secondary schools – “common core” schools which are decisive for equality of opportunity.

It acts at national and international level to support and assist the professional development of science teachers. It seeks to help teachers implement an inquiry-based pedagogy that stimulates the pupils' scientific-mindedness, understanding of the world and communication skills.

The La main à la pâte Foundation has set itself five priorities:

• Contributing to teachers' professional development;
• Producing and disseminating teaching materials;
• Promoting equal opportunity through science by its support for educational projects in areas with educational difficulties or other specificities;
• Involving scientists and industrialists in the development of science teaching;
• Developing international cooperation around science teaching.
