CARBON ACT MOOC: INNOVATIVE TEACHING FOR CLIMATE SOLUTIONS
About
Welcome to the "Carbon Act MOOC: Innovative Teaching for Climate Solutions", a transformative course designed to empower educators with the knowledge and tools to tackle one of the most urgent challenges of our time: climate change.
Objectives
In this course, you will:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of climate change, enhancing your ability to convey its importance to your students.
- Learn strategies for integrating climate change into your lessons through engaging pedagogies and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Gain the tools and knowledge to implement climate initiatives within your school community.
- Design your Carbon Act Learning Scenario on a chosen climate topic.
Date and registration
The course will be held online from 09 September to 16 October 2024, with an estimated workload of 3 to 5 hours per module.
- Module 1 opens on 09/09/2024.
- Module 2 opens on 16/09/2024.
- Module 3 opens on 23/09/2024.
- Module 4 opens on 30/09/2024.
Course deadline to finish all activities 16/10/2024.
This course is open to all. It is especially valuable for practising teachers of all subjects and grade levels, with all levels of experience, and student teachers preparing for entry into the profession. Other school staff (librarians, school leaders, etc.) who are interested in advancing climate change education are also welcome to join.
