15th Scientix Projects' Networking Event:

Sustainability of projects

More and more projects need to think about their sustainability beyond the initial funding even before starting the development of the outputs. However, what does sustainability of a project mean? Moreover, how can we achieve it, when funding is reduced and there are so many outputs available?

The 15th Scientix Projects’ Networking Event (SPNE15) will bring together project and organisation representatives active in STEM education projects to discuss these concerns and explore best practices in ensuring some sustainability of their results.

Around 20 participants, including experts, and project and organisation representatives working on the topic, as well as researchers, policy makers, teachers, SMEs who are involved in STEM education projects benefitting from public or private funding are encouraged to express interest in participating. Please note this is not a teacher training event, but a discussion / exchange event.

The aim of this SPNE15 co-organized by Scientix and Cell Explorers is:

  • To share the results of different projects (that “should” become sustainable).
  • To discuss what is meant by sustainability, problems to achieve it and tips to succeed.
  • To provide an overview of the problem with the sustainability of projects, and define a set of recommendations of follow up actions to ensure the sustainability of STEM education projects and their results.

The organisers will collect ideas, comments and general conclusions agreed between participants during the workshop. The results of the discussion will be published in a Scientix Observatory article co-authored by all participants. For more information on Scientix observatory papers, please see: http://scientix.eu/observatory

Note: Scientix will provide lunch during the event and can arrange and cover the flight to Ireland and up to two nights at the hotel for the event participants who need it. Participants are responsible for all other expenses.

Expressions of interest and eligibility

Representatives of STEM projects which are included or are in the process of being included in the Scientix repository are invited to apply. Note that, due to the considerable interest in this event, Scientix can’t approve all expressions of interest. A fair distribution of countries and the diversity of projects represented will be taken into account when selecting participants. Earlier applications will have more chances of being selected

All places have been reserved. This event is no longer accepting applications.
