More than ever, learning requires technology that helps create a safe, accessible and collaborative experience that empowers teachers and inspires students. As we look at the growth of STEM-based careers we are working with Teachers, Schools and Universities to prepare students for the unique challenges that people in these positions face. But you need to start early. Studies show that the earlier you introduce STEM education, the more children become interested in those subjects. Innovation requires curiosity to spark imagination and anticipate the challenges ahead. In joining the STEM Alliance Lenovo seeks to align and collaborate with other Alliance members and play a full part, as the world's biggest PC supplier, in design of education technology solutions optimized for school environments.

Children who learn STEM concepts throughout their education are better prepared to meet increasingly technology-focused professional requirements. Schools and Teachers who invest in STEM education provide students the skills they need to thrive in their future careers, from technical skills to critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, communication and collaboration. These skills are fostered with seamless technology integration and well-designed lessons. If we don't have students who are able to think critically about mathematics or science, we're not going to have the needed engineers, scientists, or programmers. What does your company want to achieve with its support to the STEM Alliance?
At Lenovo we believe that Education is the foundation of a better future and are committed to STEM education. We want to empower teachers and learners with rugged, secure, manageable devices and engaging content to spark imagination and discovery to pursue a STEM based education. Many schools have accelerated their 1:1 model with each student having access to a laptop for their day-to-day studies. This model has helped to keep students and teachers connected and maintain learning wherever students and teachers may be. However, with a return to in person teaching and learning, we are seeing a need to overcome more specific challenges, especially as we look specifically at preparing students for STEM-based careers. There is not only the need to run specific SW necessary for STEM activities, such as AutoDesk or Solidworks or Python, but the devices that run those ISVs require greater computing capabilities than can be found in those traditional 1:1 devices. The key is making sure that technology is accessible and is a tool that is seamless to enable innovative teaching and learning, not the thing that drives that learning. The priority is the pedagogy. Through the Alliance we wish to provide examples of real-world STEM opportunities and careers. Lenovo seeks to support educators so that they can better understand the demands from industry to provide more engaging experiences for their students. And Lenovo is focused on accelerating an exciting future with continuous innovation that anticipates and meets tomorrow's challenges.
