6.1 Activities, successes and experiences of the Roland Eötvös Physical Society

Abstract
The Eötvös Society was funded by the famous Hungarian physicist Roland Eötvös, more than 100 years ago. Nowadays, the society, which has more than 1200 members (mostly physics teachers and researchers, university professors, members of the Academy of Sciences etc.) is behind the organisation of teacher training seminars, countrywide physics competitions, coordination and edition of the Hungarian Scientifi c Physics Journal, and also the organisation of the annual Physics Teachers’ conference.
