Why is your company joining the Scientix® STEM Alliance?
Cummins is working to help address the worldwide education crisis with our STEM-focused global education strategy, Cummins READY, which aims to leverage the talents of our workforce and develop partnerships to power the pathway to education and career success for one million learners and workers across our global communities. We’re grateful for the opportunity to join the Scientix STEM Alliance to further this strategy in partnership with other industries, education stakeholders and Ministries of Education who are similarly committed to the goal of advancing STEM education across Europe.
Why is STEM education a priority for your company?
Education is one of Cummins’ three global priority areas for community engagement, using the skills of our employees to increase educational opportunity around the globe. STEM education is a priority for Cummins because learners in our communities require STEM skills to be ready for the workforce of the future. Investing our time, talent and resources to support STEM education is where we believe we can have the greatest impact and make the most meaningful contribution in our communities. We are committed to help address the learning crisis by leveraging our global footprint, our long-standing commitment to education in our communities, and the combined skills and expertise of our employees in STEM.
What does your company want to achieve with its support to the Scientix® STEM Alliance?
We aim to contribute to the goals of the Scientix STEM Alliance by focusing on supporting educators to introduce students to the wide variety of available STEM careers, recognizing exemplary teaching in STEM through the STEM Discovery Campaign and Scientix Awards, and promoting teacher training through the Science Projects Workshop, all in support of our Cummins READY strategy to further STEM learning in the communities that we touch.
