Ingredientes for good practices

According to papers, inquiry based learning (IBL) is a good way to improve scientific literacy, but when we have to design a didactical sequence, it's necessary to put feet on the ground and find practical ideas to implement with our students.
The GPs (Good Practices) developed in the SPICE project can be useful as a starting point to introduce new methodological approaches.
But the question is: Why some good practices work and travel well?
Must a good practice to be very close or open?
Write down your ideas about what ingredients must a good practice has to have to be succesful.

I think GPs have to be open, sharing your experience and writing down problems and tricks

For teachers could be also important to learn about problems and feedback of students when somebody else has implemented a GP.

Eva says: I think each teacher should be able to work with all materials, he, she shoud be able to change it according the pupils level. I think there is not any maetrial which is suitable for everybody-just take it and teach.

As you said in the last two entries
"So you mean that is always important to adapt them to you class and the level of your students.

I should also add that all implementations by another colleague should be documented as well, as much as possible, and in the spirit of the Creative Commons License.
It would be useful that the documentation included grades, sample student data, etc., to orient better future teachers who wish to use it.
Don't you think?

Hi Albert
Yes I think a good GPs has to include comments and problems that teachers had to implement in their class the activities.
It is also interested report most commons questions students do to improve the activity.
In Spice project we collected GPs with all success stories of teachers (http://spice.eun.org/web/spice/GPs-info)

That is an excellent source of information. Maybe one could even generate threads in these Spice fora to discuss each of the GP materials separately?
