Here is an interesting project about women in science. Do you know another interesting project about that?

I also find the following reference of great use in the classroom:
Central European Center for WOmen and Youth in Science: The objective of CEC-WYS is to empower woman and young scientists in Central Europe and to contribute to achieving gender equality in R&D.

Hello everybody! In my University we have organised online courses to read basic literature and discuss the problem of women scientists recognition, and the general issue of women studying science subjects. If anyone is interested in more details about the contents of this course please let me know.

Hi Albert
welcome to CoP!
It sounds great! Do you have any link we can have a look?
It would be nice to read some papers and discuss about last results and data related to the participation of girls in science subjects.

As Valeria comments, the topic of girls and science is quite interesting. One reference that I use a lot as a starting point is this one:
Gender differences in student attitudes toward science: A meta‐analysis of the literature from 1970 to 1991, by M Weinburgh - Journal of Research in Science Teaching, 1995 - Wile. It finds (not unexpectedly) that boys have more positive attitudes toward science than
girls. Many other studies have found that, and it is our task as Science teachers to try to change that fact.

Thanks Albert!
Science teachers as well media and parents are role models for students. We started a discussion in the same category "women in science", in "role model" thread.
By the way, done correctly, learning by teaching method is very efficient. Do you think it is an efficient method to make girls more motivated, self-confident and free from stereotyped thinking?
