Templates and Tips

Sharing with your peers in the Scientix community during the STEM Discovery Campaign requires crafting entries that are easy to understand, provide ample details, and can straightforward to replicate in their own class. So, to make the submission process simpler and easy for you to craft a memorable STEM Discovery Campaign entry, we encourage you to make use of the Scientix Templates that have been designed to include all the necessary component and help you structure your work. You can use the Scientix templates for most of the awards (excluding the Scientix Community and Scientix Science in Action Awards).

Below, the Experts share their advice to inspire you.

Anita Simac, Croatia

My advice: Start with one simple activity, one idea, one collaboration and build from there. My biggest advice is to involve your pupils as partners in the process and allow their interest to guide you. When teachers enjoy learning, the pupils feel it immediately. That’s a reminder of why we became teachers in the first place, to inspire curiosity, creativity, and joy in learning. So, start, explore, and enjoy the journey!

About me: I teach mathematics at Petra Preradovića Elementary School, where I also work as a teacher advisor for mathematics teachers in the municipality. I am the Head of the Regional Education Centre in Zadar and a Scientix Ambassador for Croatia since 2016. I actively participate in numerous national and international conferences and collaborate in many international STEM projects. My goal is to connect mathematics with lifelong learning through project and inquiry‑based teaching, while nurturing students’ passion for science, creativity, and research. Social‑emotional learning and wellbeing are at the heart of my classroom practice.

Álvaro Molina Ayuso, Spain

My advice: I recommend to all teachers participating in the STEM Discovery Campaign not just to share their teaching material and lessons (of course, that’s also great!) but to share the things they learn as teachers to improve their teaching and their lessons. The Campaign is a powerful tool to improve your practice and help others improve theirs!

About me: Ever since studying Physics at university I knew I wanted to dedicate my professional career to explaining the importance of understanding mathematics as a tool for learning. As a teacher, I've continued with this idea, but with different approaches, such as explaining to my students the importance of problem solving for learning and how programming and robotics can help us in all areas of knowledge. Developing problem-solving and computational thinking skills has been a challenge as a teacher, but one that has helped me grow, learn and improve my work with students.

Serife Takmaz, Türkiye

My advice: My advice for the STEM Discovery Campaign is choose a real problem, put students at the centre of the process, create a simple but measurable result and add your activity to the map. Instead of copying Scientix resources as they are, adapt them to your classroom needs and make sure to document the process!

About me: I work as a STEM educator with gifted students aged 8-14 at the Konya Ereğli Science and Art Centre. As a Scientix Ambassador and eTwinning enthusiast, I take learning beyond the classroom walls through international collaboration. My passion is to make STEM accessible and meaningful by linking science with sustainability – from water conservation to the bioeconomy. Scientix resources and the STEM Discovery Campaign constantly fuel my practice, helping me develop new skills and integrate them into my lessons throughout the year. What motivates me most is seeing young minds overcome environmental challenges and transform them into innovative solutions through STEM projects. We don't just learn science; we live it together.

Georgia Laskaris, Greece

My advice: Don’t hesitate to participate! You don’t need the perfect activity: share what matters to you and your students! Think about the activity that made and your students excited and proud, that’s exactly what the STEM Discovery Campaign needs, your insights, your unique way of teaching and implementing activities. Start early, make a schedule, and pin your activity on the Map, let’s go! Share, learn, and enjoy this amazing community of teachers!
