The “eXplorarium” is a project for modern e-Learning in the school.
Teaching proposals combining constructive learning with current medial typology are developed especially for the basic level and tested in school reality. In eXplorarium courses, pupils ask their questions about the real world and, in answering them, relate the various possibilities of e-Learning to the learning platform “Moodle”, adapted for the eXplorarium. The eXplorarium supports pupils' materials and media competences with the approach of Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) and constructive learning while at the same time supporting their linguistic expressiveness.
eXplorarium is an offer for selected schools in social hotspots of Berlin. The project was sponsored by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Berlin Senate Administration for Education, Science and Research within the framework of the eEducation Master Plan from 2005 to 2012, and has been supported by the Berlin Senate Administration for Education, Youth and Science.

From the beginning of the project, it was not just about enriching the classroom through the use of a computer, but to try out how eLearning can be part of the school day. To this end, teaching units had to be developed which can be implemented better and more meaningfully with the computer and learning platform than without.
The Moodle learning platform makes it possible not only to relate the content of the selection and linguistic presentation to the specific class, but also to make the learner's discussion with these contents part of the lesson and to map it on the learning platform for all. Conjectures are documented and discussed, and the pathway to meaningful learning results with all possible detours can be traced. And not only that – the work remains intact, you can later re-establish it and enjoy it more.
