Science to Schools and Pupils to Science: Systematic Preparation towards Excellence in Science, Research, and Education
The project is focused on the systematic support of collaboration among research institutions (FNUSA-ICRC), high schools and universities.
The aim of the project is to support the quality and attractiveness of science teaching at secondary schools and colleges, thus increasing the students' interest and motivation to study science and medicine at universities and to take part in research activities. The project activities include the organisation of lectures given by Czech and foreign experts in partnering schools or hospitals, as well as organising internships and workshops for teachers. A special part of the project is the ICRC Academy, which started in 2012 and offers students the opportunity to experience a clinical research environment under the guidance of mentors, and become a part of research teams. The project is also focused on the education of current and future research nurses who are a crucial part of clinical research teams and the promotion of this new position in the Czech Republic. Educational activities include workshops both in schools and hospitals, internships, the publishing of a manual, and the release of informational videos.
