LYKE-network, Luonto ja Ympäristökasvatuksen Tukiverkosto
LYKE is a network that helps schools and early childhood education with education for nature, environment and sustainability.
There are about 60 actors in the LYKE-network. Actors include nature- and environment schools, visitor centres of national parks, youth centres, camp schools and museums. 34 of the actors have been certified as development centres, 18 as action centres. The others are not yet certified, but the goal is that every actor will get a certificate. More here.
The overall aim of the network is that every kindergarten and school in Finland will have the opportunity to get professional help with their nature and environmental education. Eco Van is a model that is designed to help to fulfil the goal - more information here.
Basic information
Every year there is a questionnaire for the members of the network. We collect information about participation in activities in the LYKE-network and also ask about some other topical issues.
We have also made Society’s Commitment to Sustainability, and we report on our achievements.
Every member of the LYKE-network offers school programmes for groups from schools and/or early childhood education within education for nature, environment and sustainability. Most of the members also offer training courses for teachers.
We also run a material bank with free teaching materials and practical tips that could be used in education for nature, environment and sustainability.
