Project Syd
ProjektSyd developed learning courses to raise students' enthusiasm for subjects related to science, technology and health.
ProjektSyd aimed to create a community across the formal and informal institutions in Southern Denmark, to serve as the basis for the development, testing and dissemination of teaching and learning modules that can raise students’ enthusiasm for science.
10 working groups consisting of 2-3 teachers and an informal learning environment were established to develop the new modules, which are now available online.
Basic information
The Department of Science Education of the University of Copenhagen continuously evaluated the process and outcomes associated with ProjektSyd from autumn 2011 to end of the project (2012). The evaluation focused on indications of culture-creating or culture-changing processes as evidence of permanent changes in the teaching of science, technology and health in a number of educational institutions (formal and informal) participating in the project.
The learning courses are based on various teaching methods and approaches. They are intended for science teaching in lower secondary and secondary. The titles of the courses are:
