The Code 4 SDGS project is a national project that received a grant under the European Union "Sivil Düşün" Programme. The aim of the project is for teachers to develop learning scenarios for sustainable development purposes by receiving coding training. The scenarios developed were turned into a book and made available to other teachers. The project, which lasted for six months, ended in March 2022.

The target group of the project consists of 80 secondary school teachers in Turkey. Coding and SDG training was given to the teachers. 25 of the learning scenarios prepared by the teachers were selected and turned into a book. The classroom implementation of 10 scenarios was also videotaped. Thanks to the project, teachers not only worked on their professional development, but also produced content that contributed to the SDGs that their colleagues could use.

Within the scope of the project, pre-test and post-test were applied to the participants. The majority of the participants stated that they received coding training for the first time and would use this training in their lessons; and that their sustainability knowledge and skills were improved. All of the teachers stated that they would like to participate in such social responsibility projects again. In addition, teachers who applied the learning scenarios in their lessons stated that their students also enjoyed such STEM applications.

Within the scope of the project, teachers were given training on coding with the BBC micro:bit, on the Microsoft Makecode platform, on Sustainable Development Goals and on preparing a learning scenario in three different sessions. Teachers who were not in the target group of the project also benefited from this training. The teachers produced solutions that contributed to a global goal that they determined in the time given to them. They also used coding in their solution.

The experts gave feedback to the learning scenarios prepared by the teachers. After that, the scenarios were finalised. The determined 25 scenarios were turned into a book. In addition, 10 lesson applications were made into short videos and shared on the social media account of the project.
