How can we foster more diversity and inclusion in STEM? This resource introduces the work of social scientists, Dr Christina H. Paguyo and Dr Valentine Iturbe-LaGrave from the University of Denver in the USA, and their innovative work in helping teachers to embrace inclusive teaching techniques. Dr Paguyo specialises in academic assessment, while Dr Iturbe-LaGrave specialises in inclusion. Together, they are helping teachers ensure that all students are supported and included in engineering and computer science. This resource includes interviews with Dr Paguyo and Dr Iturbe-LaGrave and an insight into how to become a social scientist. It also includes an activity sheet, containing ‘thinking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on Dr Paguyo and Dr Iturbe-LaGrave’s work and activities that students can do at home or in class.
