Getting feedback to your professional development course – Facilitating your work by targeting the course to your participants The ready-to-use guide focusses on the often neglected complexity of evaluating the short- and long-term effects of a particular professional development initiative. Evaluation of PD programmes are often restricted to the level of contentment and happiness of participants, and a broader set of evaluation approaches needs to be elaborated. This guide for PD providers presents standard methods for evaluation and innovative, formative, methods built into the PD activities, and gives recommendations for a feasible and purposeful evaluation of PD courses. It considers what they achieve and provides the pros and cons of them. PD providers as well as authorities will find the guide useful for selecting and advising on how to obtain appropriate evaluative feedback.
