This resource is one of the 36 Scientix lesson plans that were developed during the “STEM Is Everywhere!” MOOC, the first ever online course funded and carried out exclusively by Scientix and hosted on the EUN Academy. The course aimed to connect Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classes with “real life” and supported teachers in integrating real-world problems into their STEM lessons and practices.By the end of this lesson, students will be able to use numerical computing in their everyday lives, understand how to analyse the quantitative relationships between different sizes using percentage ratio and interest calculation, learn how to calculate the compound interest on a bank deposit, compare results and types of credit, calculate the amount repaid at the end of the term and calculate the balance between the income and expenses of a person or family over a given period of time.
