Prepare for the autumn full of STEM activities with STEM Alliance

After a very productive and motivating summer period, STEM Alliance is entering a new academic year with big plans. A new calendar of online events, released recently by STEM Alliance and Scientix, includes chats for schools and webinars with representatives of companies such as Cisco, Bertschi or Vopak. Moreover, in the coming months STEM Alliance will cooperate even more closely with LEGO Education, organising plenty of activities to ignite student engagement in learning and to support educators.

36 new lesson plans from the Scientix MOOC “STEM Is Everywhere!” are online!

The Scientix MOOC “STEM Is Everywhere!” aimed to connect Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classes with “real life” and help teachers integrate real-world problems into their STEM lessons and practices. During the course, participants had the chance to develop their own lesson plans, which now are available for everyone in the Scientix resources repository.

Scientists of the future unveiled at the BP Ultimate STEM Challenge 2019!

Sophia Rochfort and Freya Gillard, young scientists from Blundell’s School, UK, have won the BP Ultimate STEM Challenge, a competition that invites students aged 11-14 to put their STEM skills to the test by developing a solution to a real-world problem. They presented a measuring device designed for coffee machines which checks the cup size before pouring, cutting down on plastic pollution and one-use cups.
