This year’s ESA Open Day will take place on Sunday 6 October at the European Space Research and Technology Centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. Registration is compulsory but free of charge.

In line with the global celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing, the theme of ESA Open Day 2019 is ESA to the Moon. Among many special guests, there will be Apollo 7 astronaut Walt Cunningham, who flew on the first crewed Apollo mission, Apollo 9 astronaut Rusty Schweickart – the first pilot of the Lunar Module, who tested the first lunar EVA suit – and Dutch ESA astronaut André Kuipers, who has flown two missions to the International Space Station.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover ESA’s largest establishment at their own pace, take part in different hands-on activities and join numerous Space Talks.
