More than 420 activities registered for the STEM Discovery Week

This year’s edition of the STEM Discovery Week campaign is turning out to be bigger than ever, counting more than 420 activities in 34 countries around the world and reaching more than 50,000 people! For the very first time, a number of those activities will be broadcast live online every day from Monday 23 to Friday 27 April 2018.

New competition for secondary school students about climate change

The CRESCENDOschools network invites secondary school students, aged 16 to 19, to share their ideas in a new competition about climate science and how it can be better communicated to the public. The students behind the best ideas will be invited to present their ideas at the network’s Annual General Meeting in Toulouse, France, on 10 October 2018.

Pick your favourite StarT project and the best teaching practice

Everyone can now participate in a public vote on YouTube for the LUMA StarT Award 2018. The 28 international and 10 Finnish award nominees all made videos devoted to various teaching practices. The voting process is simple. All that people have to do is go to YouTube and “like” their favourite videos.

This is the conclusion of a new working paper published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), based on data from the 2015 PISA survey.

The first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) about life sciences from Amgen Teach

Three new Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for teachers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are planned at the European Schoolnet Academy in 2018. The first course, Inquiry-Based Teaching in Life Sciences by Amgen Teach, starts on 12 March 2018 and is already open for registration.

Robotics and automation workshops for teachers at ESA
