Are you planning on covering biotech or bioengineering in your classroom? Maybe you have a science activity planned this autumn or are looking for one to participate in? Or you have some talented essay writers among your students?
Then you should take a closer look at the European Biotech Week 2022. Now in its 10th edition, the event runs 26 September-2 October.
In the past, the European Biotech Week has included activities such as science cafes, seminars, workshops, company site visits, artistic performances, conferences, live demonstrations and many more. Activities can be held in-person or online or be a hybrid of both.
You can register your activity for free and EuropaBio -- the European Association for Bioindustries, the organizer of Biotech Week – will promote it on all its communication channels, including social media. Activities taking place a week before or after the dates mentioned above also are eligible for registration and promotion.
For the first time, the event this year includes an essay competition with prizes up to €1.000. The competition is open to EU students and recent graduates up to the age of 35. Participants can compete in two categories: healthcare biotechnology or industrial biotechnology.
Additionally, there will be an essay category for researchers and students in Ukraine, as part of an effort by EuropaBio to support Ukraine this year.
The European Biotech Week was inaugurated in 2013. It seeks to raise aware about biotechnology and the life sciences in general, and to make both accessible to local communities.
