How do you keep the equipment that produces the brightest X-ray beams on Earth from overheating?

Location: Online

Organizer: Science in School project & European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF)

Type of event: webinar

Target groups: learners

Topic: STEM

Language of event: English

In this online webinar, Alicia Potgieter, a PhD student at the European Synchrotron, ESRF, will explain some of the challenges of keeping precision scientific instruments cool, and how they relate to fundamental principles like heat transfer that students learn about in their physics lessons.

The Science in School project and ESRF invite young learners aged 16 to 19 to attend the virtual event with their school classes or as individuals. If you are interested in attending the webinar, which will take place on 6 October, visit their page.
